Wash, Wrap & Warmth

Hygiene, dignity and first aid

By cleaning wounds, checking their basic health and providing some personal hygiene, we hope to prevent small issues becoming issues that need serious medical attention.

We have launched a new health care & health education programme for people who have become destitute and are not in a mental or physical state to get medical attention or maintain regular personal hygiene.

With a team of qualified doctors who volunteer their time and a few good samaritans, we visit people who need such basic health services (identified with care & sensitivity) every month.

We wash their wounds, check their health, prescribe & provide medicines and provide basic hygiene services such as cutting their hair and nails.

The programme is being implemented among the Irula and other tribal communities of Thiruvannamalai, TamilNadu.
